New Life

The day had ended and per our evening norm our family gathered on the couch for prayer. This night however was special because it was our time to be quiet before the Lord and get words for our sweet girl Zoe Blossom. For today Zoe turned 5 years old. Amazing how quickly time flies.

In so many ways it felt like yesterday when I was sitting on the floor in Esperanza and Gryphin’s room. While I sat sorting their clothes, 7 year old Esperanza came up to me and spoke matter of factly.

“Mom, God told me you are going to have another baby.”

“Oh, He did now did He?” I nonchalantly answered.

A baby was the furthest thing from my plan. I was 40 years old and had already birthed three live babies and two still borns. I was not looking to birth another one.

“Uh . . . Babe.” Bruce stuttered in our room across the hall.

“Yeah?” I answered as I stretched and headed towards our bedroom.

“Well, uh, the last two mornings I have woken with a vision of me holding a baby in my arms. And uh, God has told me the baby was ours.” Bruce answered sheepishly.

Shrugging my shoulders I continued keeping myself busy with chores around the house. I was not about to entertain this idea at all!!

A couple days later I was the parent picking up a handful of YWAM kids from elementary school. Pulling up in our YWAM van I jumped out and headed to our pick up spot. As the children gathered one of the YWAM 1st graders approached me.

Putting her hand on my belly, she looked up at me and said; “You have a baby in there.”

I was absolutely dumbfounded. Three different people had heard clearly from the Lord. I was to give birth to another baby.

After dropping the kids off I went straight to the grocery store and picked up three pregnancy tests. That night, as soon as our three kids were in bed I took the first test. Shock flooded over me. I took the next one. It was the same result. Yes, I took a third pregnancy test.

All three pregnancy tests said “POSITIVE”.

I was pregnant. I was in shock as I walked out of the bathroom. Could it really be? Was I really going to have baby number 6 at 41 years old?

YES!!

Now a little over five years later, I held this sweet baby girl in my arms as we prayed. Such a gift she has been to all of us. I can’t even imagine our life without her. None of us can! She truly has brought such beauty to our family.

So what words did we get for this incredible girl? Well, the words were very fitting! And it was so fun because all six of us got very similar words, even Zoe, which rarely happens.

  • Gryphin-big flower dancing in the sun

  • Esperanza-flower pink, in the middle darker, very pretty

  • Kara- new life, we will see parts of  Zoe that we have never seen before. Very beautiful and vibrant.

  • Zoe-I was dancing in the dark with my whole family watching.

  • Amara-a light

  • Bruce-Zoe with a smile. Clouds. A room. God would use her to light up the room.

Please join us in praying a blessing over our Zoe Blossom (New Life)! She truly is such a gift. Full of life. Always quick to say thank you. Notices those in need and is so full of compassion! She lights up any room she is in and loves to dance her heart out!! We love you Zoe Blossom! Happy Birthday sweet girl!!
